Two Crows

by Sandy Carlson

The pines, heavy with rain,
Shudder under the weight of one crow
On a branch near our suet feeder.
A squirrel follows.
                                   He is
Learning about suet.
                                   The crow hops,
Caws, caws, caws. A second
Crow sends a second shudder through the
Same tree. The squirrel skitters
Off, invisible on a grey day.
