All it would take
is a large rotating fiery cloud
of interstellar dust and gas
accelerated by shockwave,
then contracting,
from more shock,
this time a nearby supernova,
into a ball of fire
while larger fragments of hot debris
clump together into planets,
spend five and a half billion years cooling,
and, on one of these new worlds,
chemical reactions spawn nucleobases,
amino acids,
primitive forms of life
that slowly,
over many more millions of years,
evolve into three or four
decent, hard-working,
marriageable young guys
standing at the bar,
sipping martinis
that they almost spill
when you walk in.
This is where patience comes in.
